Retrieving his toy

Accidently threw the toy and it got stuck on the railing. That didn't seem to bother Sobes. He got it anyways!

Soba and little kids

My brother and his family came to visit. I was a little nervous as to how Soba would be with little kids. He hangs out with our neighbors' kids outside with no problems, but he tends to be territorial when it comes to his house. So, I wasn't sure what to expect.

When they first came in, we had Soba on his leash until he calms down which didn't take long. I was so proud of him. He was very mellow and just followed us around. I introduced Andrew (my nephew) to Soba. They played fetch inside for a while then I showed Andrew how to feed Andrew some snacks. Andrew really liked Soba.

I shouldn't be surprised, but Soba did follow them around and stayed close ESPECIALLY when they are snacking. He was waiting for food to drop from their little hand to the ground so he can feast!

We took some pictures of Andrew interacting with Soba below.

Very Unsnuggly

Yes, Shibas are not snuggly dogs. However, Wade LOVES to hug Soba (see picture 1). So, here is how it starts out. He brings him up on the sofa. Soba deals with it for a while... THEN when he has enough so he struggles to get out of the hug (see picture 2). Wade refuses to let him go, and it looks like he is choking the little guy (see picture 3).

This saga continues almost every night. Both are stubborn and refuse to give up. I can't wait to add another boy to this mix! Imagine how fun this will be! =)

Tail Uncurled

I cooked some ground beef for dinner the other day, and placed some of it in Soba's bowl. Check out how much he enjoyed it! His tail became uncurled! Oh yeah, enjoy!
